These bustling noodles and dumpling restaurants, run by the Chang family of Genghis Khan Mongolian Barbecue fame, are some of the best Chinese food restaurants in Kansas City dining. Opened in early 2002, Blue Koi Midtown quickly developed a loyal following. Named the “Best Ethnic Restaurant ” by Ingram’s Magazine, the Blue Koi local restaurants has pleased patrons with dishes such as Ants on a Tree, a colorful dish of cellophane Chinese noodles tossed with delicately spiced ground pork and bits of cabbage and chopped carrots. The gluten free Seafood Noodle Soup with generous variety of seafood such as scallop, shrimp, calamari, mussel and rice noodles, plus a delicious variety of plump Northern Chinese dumplings.
Opened in 2007, Blue Koi, Leawood continues the tradition set out by Blue Koi, Midtown. With the large bar, innovative menus, and wonderful patio, Blue Koi, Leawood is a perfect spot for a night on the town. A Blue Koi trademark is their many-flavored Bubble Tea, a unique blend of ice or smoothie teas and tapioca pearls which the restaurant first introduced to Kansas City. A fine selection of loose-leaf Chinese teas and a full bar are also offered to complement your meal.
